YA Indie Carnival: Best fan experience

This week on the YA Indie Carnival is about best fan experiences. As a very new indie writer, I have some great professional reviews, but I don’t have much fan experience yet. But I have some great fan experiences as a nerdy fan fiction writer. I get some great letters still from fanfiction.net for my Babylon 5 fan fiction novel The Long Trial. I got a letter once from a fellow Babylon 5 fan who said that they were so into the story that they thought of it as part of the original untold canon of Babylon 5. That couldn’t be higher praise for a fan fiction writer. And they wrote back months later to say that they had re-read it again and that they had loved it even more the second time. As a writer in general, that is awesome to hear.

There are lots of great events and reading material out this week:

The Bloodstone Saga finale, My Tattered Bonds by Courtney Cole has been released!

The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines will released on Oct 21. Here is the book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aAp6chU-d6o

  1. You had me at untold canon! WOW. It really doesn’t get better than that, Rachel. I’m a newbie too. So I think when I get a fan that goes to the trouble of writing me an email, that is just the cats pajamas! Thanks so much for sharing this, Rachel! Keep up the great writing:)

  2. As an author, the best compliment a reader can give you is to read your book twice. Thanks for sharing.
